FOC Pre-Orders

IMPORTANT: All FOC Pre-Order sales are FINAL once the Final Order Cutoff date has passed. Please review your order carefully before the cutoff.

FOC (Final Order Cutoff) pre-orders are advance orders placed for comics and collectibles that have not yet been released. When you place a FOC pre-order, we submit your order to our distributor and ship it to you upon its release date.

What You Need to Know

  • Cover art and product images shown at the time of order may not be final and are subject to change by the publisher without notice.
  • Release dates displayed on our site are estimates provided by our distributor. Publishers occasionally delay titles, which is beyond our control. We will update listings if and when we receive new information.
  • If your order contains multiple items, it will ship as a complete order once all items have arrived at our facility, unless otherwise specified.
  • Please allow 14 to 30 business days for order processing after items arrive.
How FOC works: Publishers set a cutoff date by which retailers must finalize quantities. Once that date passes, orders are locked and cannot be modified or cancelled. This is an industry-wide requirement, not a store-specific policy.

Order Cancellations

Cancellation Window

Cancellation requests must be submitted within 24 hours of your original purchase. After this window, cancellations are only accepted at our discretion. After this window, all sales are final and cancellations will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Cancellation Fee: A 25% cancellation fee applies to all pre-order cancellations to cover processing and distributor commitment costs.

Items That Cannot Be Cancelled

  • Any FOC pre-order once the Final Order Cutoff date has passed
  • Store exclusive variants
  • Ratio variants and incentive variants
  • Signed / COA (Certificate of Authenticity) books
  • Graded books
  • Exclusive bundles and sets
  • Gift cards
  • Any item that has already shipped

How to Request a Cancellation

Email us at animocityllc@outlook.com with your order number and reason for cancellation. Do not attempt to cancel through any other channel. Cancellations requested via social media will not be honored.

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Chargeback Policy: Any chargeback filed against an order will be contested. We retain all order communications, tracking information, shipping records, and applicable store policies and will submit this documentation in full to our payment processor to dispute the claim. Customers who file a chargeback or who request multiple cancellations forfeit the right to place future orders with us and will be permanently banned from our store.

Return Policy

We do not accept returns. All sales are final. By completing a purchase with us, you acknowledge and agree that no returns will be accepted for any reason, including but not limited to change of mind, duplicate orders, or dissatisfaction with a product that matches its description.
Book Condition Standard: Unless otherwise stated in the product listing, all books shipped from our store are considered 9.2 (Very Fine+) or better per CGC/CBCS grading standards. We do not accept returns or issue refunds for books that meet this threshold. Minor manufacturing imperfections such as slight bindery or printing defects are industry standard and do not constitute damage.

Damaged Items & Errors

You must contact us within 3 days of receiving your order to report damage or errors. Claims submitted after this window cannot be honored.

How to Report a Damaged Item

Email animocityllc@outlook.com with the subject line "Damage Claim — Order #[YOUR ORDER #]" and include all of the following:

  • A photo of the damaged item clearly showing the damage
  • A photo of the item next to the shipping label it arrived with
  • A photo of the exterior of the shipping box (including corners)
  • Your order number / packing slip

Failure to provide these images may delay or disqualify your claim. Do not discard packaging until your claim has been resolved.

Resolution

We will issue a replacement whenever possible. If a replacement is not available, a refund or store credit will be issued. We reserve the right to request that a damaged item be returned or destroyed with photographic evidence before a replacement or refund is processed.

Missing Items

If your order arrived but was missing an item, contact us within 3 days of delivery with your order number and photos of what you received (packing slip and box contents). Missing item claims submitted after this window will not be accepted.

Shipping

Carriers

We ship via USPS. A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has been scanned in and picked up by USPS. Once your package is in transit, the carrier is responsible for its delivery. We do not have additional tracking information beyond what is visible in the USPS tracking portal.

Note on USPS Tracking Numbers: USPS reuses tracking numbers approximately every 120 days. This means a tracking number may initially display delivery information from a previous shipment that does not match your location or order. This is a USPS system limitation and is not something we have any control over. Your tracking information will update accurately once your package has been scanned in by USPS at the time of pickup.

Address Accuracy

It is your responsibility to provide a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout. If you notice an error after placing your order, contact us immediately at animocityllc@outlook.com. We cannot guarantee address changes once a shipping label has been created. Packages returned to us due to an incorrect address or failure to claim from the post office will require additional shipping fees to reship. Unclaimed returned packages will be held for 30 days before the order is cancelled and a store credit is issued, minus original and return shipping costs.

Lost or Stolen Packages

If tracking shows your order as delivered but you have not received it, please first check with neighbors and your building's mail room, and leave a note for your mail carrier to investigate. If the package cannot be located, contact the carrier directly to file a missing package claim. We reserve the right to rely on the carrier's tracking information when it shows delivery to the address you provided. Lost or stolen packages confirmed as delivered are the responsibility of the buyer.

International Orders

We currently do ship internationally. If international shipping is available, please be aware that:

  • Any customs duties, import taxes, or fees assessed by your country are entirely your responsibility. We have no control over these charges.
  • International transit times are longer and subject to customs delays.
  • Damage claims on international orders must be submitted within 3 days of receipt.

Store Exclusives, Signed Books & CGC

Store Exclusive Variants

All store exclusive variant sales are FINAL. Exclusives cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged under any circumstances, except in the case of damage during shipping (see Damaged Items section).

Store exclusives are produced in limited quantities and ordered specifically for customers who pre-purchase them. Once sold, we cannot accept returns on these items regardless of circumstance.

Signed Books (COA)

Estimated ship dates on signed books are subject to change due to scheduling and logistical considerations with artists and signatories. These dates are estimates only. No refunds or cancellations are permitted on signed book pre-orders once the order is placed.

CGC Pre-Orders

We offer CGC-graded books as a pre-order service. All books are screened and submitted with the goal of achieving grades within the 9.4 to 9.8 range. Please note the following:

  • No grade is guaranteed unless explicitly stated in the product listing. The final grade assigned is determined solely by CGC and is beyond our control.
  • CGC Yellow Label (Signature Series) — No grade guaranteed. The signing process introduces variables that can affect the final grade.
  • CGC cases are not guaranteed to be pristine. Minor scuffing on the slab casing is a normal result of the encapsulation process at CGC. If you are unsatisfied with your slab's condition, it is your responsibility to contact CGC directly to arrange re-casing.
  • Grading turnaround times are set by CGC and are beyond our control.

Raw (Ungraded) Books

Unless otherwise stated in the product listing, we do not guarantee a condition above an estimated 9.2 on raw, ungraded books. We make every effort to ship books in the best available condition, but the nature of the comic book medium means minor imperfections can occur. Printer defects are not considered damage.
